Those of you that keep their eyes on our various twitter accounts will have seen that we played some matches against the guys from 360 Junkies. They responded so well to our twitter storm of Rocket Riot information that we picked them to be crushe… euhm… played first.

We would start around lunch time for the Junkies, but for us it was dinner time. So after playing some other games and having a few beers we ordered gigantic burgers (literally as big as my head) to prepare for the match. Playing for 360Junkies were: KingQuagmire, Seeson and IXI Nikki IXI. Playing for Codeglue were: Tom, Harald, David, Joost, Peter and Maurice.

Sadly, one of the 360Junkies got lost in the trenches and couldn’t make it into the game. This left the teams unbalanced (3 Junkies vs. 4 Codeglue) and caused the Junkies to lose their first Rugby Riot match 8 to 0! After that Joost switched teams and played for the junkies, thus balancing the teams. Sadly the balancing was not enough because the next games were all won by Codeglue with 8-2, 8-4 and finally 8-6. It was obvious the Junkies got better and better during the game and even picked up some sneaky tactics from Harald and Tom. But in the interest of fairness, we decided to play another mode: Golden Guy.

Now, for those of you that don’t know what Golden Guy is like with 8 decent players that all want to win: it’s crazy as hell! Pixels exploded everywhere, profanities were uttered by many (mostly Joost) and rockets rained down on anyone trying to get close to the Golden Guy suit. David slaughtered everyone and took home the most wins. But… in a surprise turn of events, Seeson had seen enough slaughter for one day and decided to take action. He won the last round of Golden Guy fair and square! Well done, Seeson!

The Junkies promptly took off to go to lunch, leaving everyone at Codeglue stunned and amazed at Seeson’s skills, unable to get a rematch. We stayed online until about 1 a.m. (GMT) and played some more Junkies forum members and other people from the internets. We had a lot of fun and definitely want to do something like this again!

All in all it was a great evening of Rocket Riot multiplayer fun. And that, folks, is what this game is all about! Period!

The Rocket Riot team

P.S. Some of us at Codeglue have joined the 360Junkies forum and we can definitely say that they are worth checking out! One of the coolest and friendliest gaming communities we have ever come across on the web. They organize a lot of gaming nights for members, so if you’re hunkering for cannon fodder (or want to volunteer as such), check them out at 360 Junkies!
